Single sign-on: simple and secure login with Nauta Connect

The latest update to our Connect software enables secure and automatic login via single sign-on (SSO). As an administrator, you now gain direct access to the Connect management environment – without the need for separate login credentials, passwords, or manual account creation. This means: less administration, more control.

What is single sign-on?

Single sign-on (SSO) is a method of logging in where a single account grants access to multiple systems or applications. Instead of using separate login details for each platform, you log in once using a trusted identity – and automatically gain access to connected software. It’s similar to signing into a webshop using your Google or Microsoft account: quick, secure, and reliable.

What does this mean for you as an administrator?

SSO makes managing Connect software much simpler. As soon as an administrator logs in via SSO, a management account is automatically created within the Connect software – complete with the correct roles and access rights. There’s no need to manually add users or assign roles separately.

Benefits of single sign-on

  • Secure and automatic access to the Connect management environment
  • No need for additional accounts or passwords
  • Automatic creation of administrators with appropriate permissions
  • Centralised control over access and roles
  • Less prone to errors and more efficient management

How does it work technically?

When you log in via single sign-on, we link the Connect software to your identity provider – for example, Microsoft Entra ID. The provider confirms your identity and shares only the information necessary for login.

We use SAML 2.0 for this, a widely adopted standard for the secure exchange of login credentials. All communication between Nauta Connect and the identity provider is secured and operates through a digital “handshake”: both systems actively agree to the connection and the information shared.

This handshake is periodically renewed, as the underlying certificate has an expiry date. This ensures that the connection remains secure, up-to-date, and under your control.

We support all common identity providers using SAML 2.0, such as Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, and Google Workspace.

Why is this central login important?

Especially within municipalities, government bodies, and larger organisations, single sign-on is increasingly becoming a requirement. It streamlines user management and enhances security without compromising user-friendliness.

With the new central login functionality of Nauta Connect, you immediately comply with modern standards whilst offering your users a much smoother experience.
