“Previously, we managed the keys in a small cabinet in the service department,” explains Rijk de Jong, account manager at Leertouwer. “The service technician would write their name on a list when taking a key. It worked, but it was all manual.”
The KeyConductor is now the central hub for key management at Leertouwer. Technicians log into the key cabinet using their personal access tag, the same tag they already use to access their own building. The system automatically records who takes which key and when.
“The cabinet isn’t fully stocked yet but provides us with ample room to grow,” says Rijk. “If we want to manage more keys in the future, the cabinet can easily be expanded. This ensures the system will meet our needs long-term.”
For instance, if a colleague resolves an issue for a client overnight and takes a key from the cabinet, it’s visible in the log. “It’s crucial that keys are issued securely and in a controlled manner, and that you always know who has them,” Rijk adds.
Thanks to the KeyConductor, manual administration and searching for keys are a thing of the past. Technicians can borrow and return keys 24/7, enhancing Leertouwer’s flexibility and reliability.

The implementation of the KeyConductor went very smoothly. “Nauta, like us, is a company based in Barneveld (the Netherlands), and we’ve known each other for years. They’re a great partner to work with,” Rijk explains. “We were completely taken care of, from start to finish.
The training was clear, and the system is very straightforward. You set up the users and keys, assign roles, and you’re good to go. The logging feature, in particular, is incredibly useful. We’re thrilled with this solution.”
